There are a lot of browsers out there, but most of them handle bookmarks and bookmark folders in similar ways. This article will demonstrate the process in Brave, Chrome, and Edge. If you use another browser, the process is probably similar.

How to Create Bookmark Folders in Brave

Brave is a free crypto-friendly web browser. Easy integration with browser wallets, as well as its own native wallet, make Brave handy for surfing Web3. You can also use it to browse the web ad-free or allow select ads as part of a rewards program.

To make a new bookmark in Brave from the website, select the pancake stack menu icon in the upper right. Then, hover your cursor over Bookmarks and select Bookmark this tab from the dropdown menu. You can also right-click the bookmarks tab and select Add bookmark, but if you do this route you’ll have to either type in, or paste the URL.

To make a new bookmarks folder in Brave from a new, right-click the bookmarks toolbar. Then select Add folder and type in a name.

When the named folder appears in the toolbar, just drag and drop bookmarks from the toolbar into the folder. You can also drag bookmarks out of the folder back onto the taskbar to do some reorganizing.

For a bigger view of what you’re doing, you can also access the Bookmark Manager. You can access this from the homepage by selecting the gear icon in the lower right to access your settings and then selecting Bookmarks from the banner across the top. You can also find this manager by selecting Bookmark Manager from the Bookmarks dropdown menu above.

How to Create Bookmark Folders in Chrome

Chrome is one of the most popular web browsers out there, in large part because it is owned by Google. In addition to natively using the most popular search engine, a chrome account integrates Google-owned apps from Drive and Docs to YouTube. Chrome also makes Bookmarks easier.

From the webpage that you want to bookmark, click the star icon in the far-right side of the search bar. If all you want to do is make the bookmark, just press the Done button. Otherwise, click on the More button. Press New Folder in the lower right, and create folders and organize bookmarks within this menu.

As with Brave, you can also add bookmarks and folders by right-clicking in the bookmarks toolbar on a new tab. Also, as in Brave, you can access the bookmarks manager through dropdown menus from the stacked-dots icon in the upper right. However, you can also navigate directly to Chrome’s bookmark manager by right-clicking the bookmark toolbar.

How to Create Favorites Folders in Edge

While Internet Explorer was basically just the browser that people used to download real browsers, Microsoft Edge is currently the second leading Web browser. The Microsoft-native browser uses the Bing search engine and features similar integrations to Chrome, but with Microsoft’s internal suite including Outlook email, OneDrive, and the Microsoft Office platform.

Instead of “Bookmarks,” Edge has “favorites” but other than that, the system is similar. On a page that you want to favorite, click the star icon in the far right of the search bar. Or, if you’re in a hurry, press Ctrl+D on the keyboard. From there, the layout is similar to Chrome, with the More button for additional controls.

You can also create folders in the same way as in the other browsers discussed, by right-clicking the bookmarks toolbar. Click the horizontal dots icon in the upper right to open a menu and select Favorites to access this same menu. But, this is all that there is. Edge doesn’t have a dedicated “Favorites manager” like Brave and Chrome do.

Fill Those Bookmark Folders!

Do you use the same browsers for work and pleasure? Do you manage a lot of different projects in the same browsers? Or, do you just love bookmarks so much that your toolbar is cluttered? No matter what your case, if you use bookmarks, you can probably use them better with bookmark folders.
